In an exciting day of sports shooting, the IV World Cadet Games Venezuela 2024 continued to leave great surprises.
In the individual men’s rifle category, the athletes from China demonstrated an indisputable superiority, occupying the first two places on the podium.
Lyu Sunyu from China took the victory by scoring 208pts, closely followed by his compatriot Zhan Dongru who obtained 204pts and the Russian Gladyshev Roman completed the podium reaching 202pts. The other participants, from Russia, Iran, Nicaragua, Mozambique and Venezuela, offered a highly competitive show, demonstrating the high level of the young shooters.
In the individual men’s pistol category, the excitement remained at its maximum. Representatives from China, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Nicaragua, Mozambique and Venezuela faced each other in a duel of precision and speed. Qi Xin from China took the gold with 276 points, followed by his compatriot Li Dahe who won the silver medal with 271 and Russian Salin Mikhail managed to take the bronze with 270 points.
The Venezuelan delegation, although it did not manage to get on the podium in these categories, demonstrated a great fighting spirit and made clear its commitment to the sport.
