Cadets from six nations test their skills in the Orienteering Race of the IV World Games

In an atmosphere of camaraderie and competition, the sprint model event of the Orienteering Race was held this Tuesday at the “Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Park”, Caracas, Venezuela, as a prelude to the exciting relay competition that will be held tomorrow Wednesday.

A challenge in nature

The cadets from Russia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Nicaragua and Venezuela demonstrated their skills in this discipline that combines sport with navigation and orientation in unknown terrain. With the help of compasses and maps, the athletes traveled challenging circuits designed to test their map reading, orientation and physical endurance skills.

Brotherhood and high organizational level Colonel Reza Bagheri Koli, representative of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), highlighted the importance of these games to strengthen the ties of friendship between the participating nations. “Beyond the language, the brotherhood has been strengthened,” said Colonel Bagheri, who also praised the high quality of the organization of the event, assuring that it meets all the standards required by the CISM.

The Nicaraguan cadets, participating for the first time in these games, expressed their enthusiasm for this new experience. Jeferson Castillo expressed the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and represent their country with pride. For his part, José Sirias highlighted the commitment of his team to improve in this discipline and take Nicaraguan sport to new levels. The Russian cadet Shichkov Aleksandr, who is participating for the second time in a row, shared his impressions of the competition. Although he acknowledged that the terrain of Caracas presents greater challenges than in previous editions, he assured that he had trained hard to leave the name of his country high.
