On the third day of Athletics, Russia broke the record in long jump, Iran won gold in the men’s 800m and Venezuela won three medals.

Under the Caracas sun, the delegations from Türkiye, China, Sri Lanka, Nicaragua, Iran, Pakistan, Russia and Venezuela participated in the third day of Athletics, in the IV World Cadet Games, showing off their physical condition and spirit, in each of the day’s competitions.

The activity was attended by the Commander General of the Bolivarian Army MG José Antonio Murga Baptista, sponsor of Athletics in the IV World Cadet Games, accompanied by the Director of Education of the Bolivarian Army GD Nelsón Javier Boscán Pulgar, who greeted the delegations and congratulated the cadets for their participation.

“We want to continue maintaining relations of brotherhood and mutual support… Thank you for being in our country, enjoy our beauty,” said Major General José Antonio Murga Baptista, during his tour of the facilities of the Brígido Iriarte National Stadium (Caracas), who shared in a pleasant way with the athletes present.

The Commander General of the Bolivarian Army concluded by saying, “We are very proud of our athletes, of the coaches, of the entire technical team, of the cadets of the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela, because only united will we win.”

Competitions

The day’s competitions began with the men’s 10,000-meter flat race, where the Iranian cadet, Amir Hossein Safari, prevailed over his opponents, reaching the finish line in a time of 31:58.12 minutes, breaking the record of the games, which was 32:19.38

n second place came the representative of Pakistan, Muhammad Akhart, with 31:59.95 and third place was occupied by Russia, with the cadet Denis Kaiser, who achieved a time of 32:27.02.

Long jump

The cadets of Türkiye, Russia, Iran, Sri Lanka, China and Venezuela participated in this discipline, where the Speed and height when jumping are essential to achieve a good mark.

Russian Cadet Iurii Ozhgibesov reached the distance of 8.07 meters, breaking the record of the games, which was 7.52 meters. Second place was occupied by Cadet Eduard Akberdin, from Russia, with a jump of 6.84 and in third place was Venezuelan Richard Marchan, who jumped 6.68 meters.

Men’s 800 meters

In the men’s 800-meter race, Iranian cadet Mehr Saadat crossed the finish line in a time of 1:53.23, earning the gold medal. In second place was Russian Madim Burakov, with 1:53.52 (silver medal) and in third place was Venezuela’s representative, Héctor Gómez Eliett, with 1:53.87 (bronze medal).

At the World Cadet Games, friendship and unity through sport are part of each competition.
