Venezuela broke the record of the World Cadet Games in the women’s 4x400m relay

The fourth and final day of Athletics at the IV World Cadet Games began with excitement among the public and the participating delegations, who once again showed off their talent on the track of the Brigido Iriarte National Stadium, filling their countries with pride.

In the women’s 4x400m relay, the representatives of China, Russia and Venezuela showed all their energy and skill on the track.
In first place came the Venezuelan team, with 4:00.64, breaking the World Games record that was 4:03.74. In second place was Russia (4:03.15) and the bronze medal went to the Chinese team (4:26.49).

The Venezuelan team was made up of the second-year cadet from the Bolivarian Navy Military Academy (AMARB) Adriana Camacho Rodríguez, the first-year cadets from the Bolivarian Army Military Academy, Daniela Brito Guerra, Katiuska Moreno de la Rosa and Valery Montenegro Sotolongo.

Women’s 1500 meters flat
In the women’s 1500 meters competition, athletes from China, Russia and Venezuela competed for the first three places, where the Russian cadet Aleksandra Kuznetsova won the gold medal, reaching the finish line in 5:07.74.

In second and third place were Venezuelan cadets Yhuslyn Cisneros Ayala, with a time of 5:12.63 and Katiuska Moreno de la Rosa, with 5:15.29 minutes.

Competitors Anastasiia Bulatova (Russia), Shuyi Zhang (China) and Tangxiao Lu (China) were in fourth, fifth and sixth place.
It is important to note that this is the first time that China has attended the World Cadet Games, however, they have had an outstanding participation in each of the athletics disciplines.

Men’s 1500m Flat
The cadet Héctor Gómez Eliett, from Venezuela, won the gold medal in the men’s 1500m flat, where he crossed the finish line in 4:01.49 minutes, followed by the cadets Ivan Kraevoi (Russia) with a time of 4:02.28 and Mehr Saadat (Iran) with 4:03.71 minutes.

Women’s Long Jump
In the women’s long jump, the cadets put all their energy and enthusiasm.
The representative of Sri Lanka Chathurangi Iwaduwa, won the gold medal, with a jump of 5.24 m. In second place, the Russian cadet Valeriia Tonkikh, 5.17m, followed by the Venezuelan Daniela Álvarez González, 5.01 meters.

Women’s 200m sprint
In the women’s 200m competition, Venezuelan cadets Osdalys Heredia Veliz and Valery Montenegro Sotolongo, finished first and second, taking gold and silver medals, respectively. Russian cadet Anna Kontsedailo came in third, winning a bronze medal.

Men’s 200m sprint
In the men’s 200m sprint, Venezuelan cadet Reymi Bastidas Perdomo won the gold medal, crossing the finish line in 21.69 seconds. Behind him came Pakistan’s Abdul Moeed (21:72) and Russia’s Valerii Kuzmin (21:73), who won silver and bronze medals for their countries, respectively.

4X400 Men’s Relay
The teams from China, Iran, Russia and Venezuela competed for the three medals in the men’s 4X400 relay race.
The Russian team came in first place, obtaining the gold medal, followed by Venezuela and China.

The medal table in athletics was as follows:
Venezuela: Eight gold medals, nine silver medals and seven bronze medals, giving a total of 24 medals.
Russia: Eight gold medals, seven silver medals and five bronze medals. Total 20 medals.
Iran: Two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal, total of four medals.
Pakistan: One gold medal, two silver medals and one bronze medal, total of four.
China: One gold medal, one silver medal and four bronze medals, obtaining six medals.
Sri Lanka obtained one gold medal.
Türkiye: One silver medal and three bronze medals, for a total of four medals.

Records set in athletics at the IV World Cadet Games:

400m flat: Venezuela’s representative, Cadet Valery Montenegro, broke the World Cadet Games record of 58:50, clocking 57:34.

10,000m flat: Amir Hossein Safari, from Iran, set a time of 31:58.12.

Long jump: Cadet Iurii Ozhgibesov, from Russia, reached a distance of 8.07 meters, breaking the Games record, which was 7.52 meters.
High jump: Cadet Vays Ilia, from Russia, reached a height of 2.10 meters.

Women’s 4X400 relay: The Venezuelan team reached a time of 4:00.64.

Men’s 4X400 relay: Russia set a new record of 3:17.14.

Mixed 4×400 relay: The Russian team achieved a time of 3:36.01

Thus ended the athletics competitions at the IV World Cadet Games, where friendship and unity were the main protagonists of each day.
