With the presence of national and international authorities that rules military sport and other technical officials, the second day scheduled for this Tuesday, August 20, was held with joy and commitment, in the athletics competitions, within the framework of the IV World Cadet Games Venezuela 2024.
The event was held at the facilities of the Brígido Iriarte National Stadium located in “El Paraíso”, Caracas, Venezuela, where the delegations made a splendid and emotional participation.
Women’s 400-meter dash
In the women’s 400-meter race, cadets from Venezuela, Russia and China participated.
The representative of Venezuela Cadet Valery Montenegro, reached first place, breaking the record of the World Cadet Games of 58:50, achieving 57:34, obtaining the gold medal.
Russian cadets Anna Kontsedailo and Sofiia Bukina took second and third place, winning the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Women’s 5000m
In the women’s 5000m race, Chinese cadet Liau Jiahui won with a time of 19:45.92 minutes, followed by Venezuelan cadet Yhuslyn Cisneros Ayala, who crossed the finish line in 20:00.77, and in third place was Chinese representative Li Zehui, finishing in 20:29.10.
Men’s 400m
In the men’s 400m final, cadets from Pakistan, Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Turkey and China showed their determination and enthusiasm in every second of the race. First came Pakistan Cadet Moeed Abdul, who reached a time of 48.20, earning the gold medal for his country.
Venezuelan Cadets Franyer Mendoza Morocaima 48.86 and Türkiye Kurt Mahmud with 48.98, obtained second and third place, managing to obtain the silver and bronze medals.
Shot Put
In the shot put competition, Venezuelan Cadet Moisés Rodríguez Pérez, won the gold medal, managing to reach the distance of 12.82 meters. Followed by Türkiye Cadet Celik Dogan, who threw the ball 12 meters, occupying second place and Venezuelan Cadet Carlos Briceño Velásquez, with 8.75 meters, obtained the bronze medal.
4X100 meter relay
The male cadets ran the mixed relay race, 4X100 meters, where Russia won the gold medal, with a time of 41.52, followed by the Chinese team, who came in second place, with a score of 41.91 and Venezuela entered the medal table, occupying third place with 42.31 seconds.
In each of the competitions, military values such as fraternity, respect, integration, equality and solidarity of brotherly peoples stand out.
