The Athletics day of the IV World Cadet Games began with the 5000-meter flat race, in the men’s category, where the winner was Russian Cadet Kaiser Denis, with a time of 15:05.71, followed by the representative of Iran Safari Amir, with 15:06.95 and third place was obtained by Cadet of Pakistan Akhart Muhammad, who reached the time of 15:09.85.
At the facilities of the “Brígido Iriarte” National Olympic Stadium, in the city of Caracas, Venezuela, the first day of athletics competitions was held, in the categories of 5000 meters flat, men’s 400 meters flat, men’s jump, women’s and men’s 100 meters flat, of the IV edition of the World Cadet Games, Venezuela 2024.
The cadets of the delegations of the People’s Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Nicaragua, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Russian Federation, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Republic of Türkiye and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, showed the preparation, discipline and training in every second of the races and jumps of the day.
400 meters:
During the morning, the semi-final of the men’s 400 meters flat was held, where the following qualified: Venezuela, Türkiye, Russia, Iran, Pakistan and China. The final will be held on Tuesday, August 20, at the Brígido Iriarte National Olympic Stadium in the city of Caracas.
Jump
In the jump competition, Cadet Vays Ilia, from Russia, obtained first place with a height of 2.10 meters. Second place was occupied by Cadet Héctor Añez Navas from Venezuela, with a mark of 2 meters and third place was Eduard Akberdin from Russia, with 1.96 meters.
Men’s 100 meters
Venezuela took first place in the 100 meters flat in the Men’s category. Venezuelan Second Lieutenant Bastidas Perdomo obtained a time of 10.85 seconds. In second place was the Russian cadet Daniil Savenkov, with a distance of 10.86 seconds. Meanwhile, third place went to Say Mustafa from the Republic of Turkiye, in 10.95 seconds.
It is worth noting that in the semi-final, the Cadet from the Russian Federation, Daniil Savenkov, broke the world record with a time of 10:72.
Women’s 100m
In the women’s 100-meter flat race, Venezuela took the first two places. In first place and with a time of 12.56 seconds came Cadet Osdalis Heredia Veliz.
Second place went to Cadet Aleanny Villanueva Gómez, with a time of 13.15, followed by the representative of China, Li Jinming, who achieved a time of 13.48 seconds.
Mixed 4X400m relay race
Under the noon sun, the cadets ran the mixed relay race, where Russia won the gold medal with 3:36.01, followed by Venezuela and China, who obtained second and third place respectively.
The Athletics day will continue tomorrow Tuesday, where the 5000m, 400m, men’s shot put and 4X100m relay competitions will be held.
